5G Built Right for the Oscars

With the power of 5G, we brought people from Times Square to the Oscars red carpet in LA through Verizon’s 5G-powered AR portal. 5G-enabled phones were given to participants, where they could “walk” through the portal and find themselves among the stars on the red carpet. To make this experience even more memorable, we teamed up with Optical Animal to bring the Oscars red carpet to Times Square. After walking through the portal, participants found them on a red carpet, in front of a step and repeat, surrounded by the flashing bulbs of our enthusiastic paparazzi. After their paparazzi moment, participants could then select their photos on an interactive touch screen and have it sent to themselves to share on social media with the hashtag #5GBuiltRight. Over 300 people came and experienced our 5G portal and paparazzi moment over the course of this 3-hour activation.
